Being the Library Dean at Foley has to be one of the best jobs in the world. I get to work with incredibly dedicated, smart, and talented people in service to you — Gonzaga students. Finding and interpreting information is a critical part of your education, and we are here to help you in whatever way we can. The question is — how can we best help you? What do we do well? What needs to be changed? Any ideas for something new?
I really do value your input. As a result of student surveys, notes and other comments —(a few brave souls even came to see me) — we have new group study rooms on the second floor. The number one complaint I’ve heard has been cell phone use in the library — hence the new policy limiting cell phone use to a few areas in the building. We’ve moved this year from the “no food” policy (which most people ignored) to a more reasonable and I think realistic policy asking you to just use common sense and not make a mess or stink up the place with garlic.
Your opinion really does matter and can make a difference. I hope you’ll use this blog to express yourselves and please feel free to contact me at bellgarrison@gonzaga.edu. A personal visit is always nice too.
