Library Blog!
During our library search we found out so many exciting things! After talking to someone at the circulation counter, we learned that the catalog is a library site. You can search for keywords. Titles, and many other things! If you want to put something on reserve then you can do that for 2 hours. Books that need to be returned go to the circulation counter. DVD’s, laptops, cassettes, headphones, and flip camera’s are all available for check out. The inter library loan is a system that allows a student to ask for a book that GU may not have and then they will order this book from other libraries. Another interesting program we discovered during our library search was COW. Computer on Wheels is a system that lets students check out laptops for a period of 4 hours. Students can use these laptops to do homework or research. Lastly, the new Lenovo’s have camera and STAR Board software on them!

Below is an article about Class Matters
Feed The Children is partnering with Half Price Books and the Oklahoma Education Association to give over 50,000 books to at-risk elementary school students in Oklahoma, in order to combat illiteracy and encourage higher education.
In Class Matters, the subject of poor educational opportunity is addressed showing how lack of resources in areas of poverty prevents kids from obtaining the tools needed to achieve higher education and advance their socio-economic status. This organization builds a foundation for improving overall education for children who need it the most. If these organizations achieve what they set out to do, the program will encourage higher education and increase low class enrollment in collegiate institutions. Such an increase in enrollment will increase quality of life for children born into underprivileged circumstances and will help build a better future in America.
