Foley Services
The computer lab is a room in the basement of the Foley Library equipped with 30 computers for faculty, staff, and students. The lab also includes a Data Transfer Station where information can be transferred from your computer to other hard drives, CDs, memory sticks, etc. This station also includes a photo scanner, and a Photoshop program. The Library also includes specific ZONES, designated as study areas for students. Each ZONE has a different level of noise volume, where students can select what area fits them best for their study environment. The computer lab is located in the Green ZONE where large groups of students are able to meet for projects and other work, and not worry about bothering anyone for being too loud. Other ZONES , include the Yellow Zone, where students study individually, and Red Zones where complete silence is required.

Class Matters
The people of Beechview Pennsylvania are fighting to keep open their library and the services that it offers. Without this library they fear that the people will suffer from a lack of information and technology within the library. Libraries are important to any community because they help those who cannot afford to help themselves. They give them access to free information and technology that they can use to advance their education and skills necessary in the professional world. There are several examples of individuals who could have benefited from access to a library within Class Matters. Many individuals in Class Matters were stuck at dead end jobs with no means of advancing. A library would have provided access to new opportunities and given them the chance to advance into careers and better their lives.
