RefWorks

RefWorks is a tool that creates bibliographies from written work or online databases. With RefWorks you can automatically format the paper and bibliography in seconds. The tutorials are available on the Foley website and take about 20 minutes. The Reference Desk can answer any question you may have about how to operate RefWorks.

The Writing Center

The Writing Center is here to give students the tools to improve their own papers. They do not merely proofread papers. Students are accepted on a walk-in basis and all work is confidential. The center is open Monday through Thursday 9am-7pm, Friday 9am-3pm, and Sunday 5pm-10pm. Remember it is closed on Saturdays!

Class Matters

“Library Reached Out With Bookmobiles for 49 Years”

San Diego Public Library bookmobile began in 1948, passing out books to the greater San Diego area. The bookmobile is a mobile library designed to reach out to children in the city who don’t have access to a library. The bookmobile is still making appearances today, at local elementary schools and public events.

This story relates to Class Matters because the bookmobile allows children of all social classes access to books they may not otherwise get. The books give the kids a chance to read stories or nonfiction books, which enhances their education free of charge. If kids of all classes are getting an equal opportunity to read then social classes become less divided in that particular region.
