| “Zones” refer to the level of noise you can make in the library. There are three zones: quiet zone, whisper zone, and talking zone. The lower level is primarily a talking zone, meaning that group study is okay, but be respectful of other students’ time. |

Here is an explaination of why we chose that article and what it is about:
This article is about Charleston County Public Library having arranged to simulcast operas from New York’s Metropolitan Opera season (These simulcast’s are free and open to the public). This is an excellent example of libraries opening up opportunities to people who would otherwise not be able to see these operas. The Library is assisting in spreading culture, education, and a variety of experiences for anyone who is interested without the concern of cost. For the many less priveledged opera goers or for those who just want to broaden their experiences, this is providing opportunities for activities that were not available before.
Here is our movie on technology in the library. There are many more technological opportunities available, this will just show you a few of them located in the lower level of Foley Center.
