I.T. Help Desk

The hours of the I.T. desk are Mon-Fri 800-2100, Sat 1200-1700 and Sun 1000-1700, and the hours are the same for over-the-phone support.  Their phone number is (509) 313-5550.  We thought that the phone number was peculiar because 555 numbers are usually saved for fictional purposes… which is weird because we are in reality!  We learned that the I.T. desk is willing to help with any technical issues you may be experiencing.  This may include help with you iPhone, Blackberry, Mac or even your old PC.  They can even help you install new software!!  They also have computer-ish stuff on-sale for you to purchase or borrow.  They give you an Ethernet cable.  It is important for freshman to be informed about the I.T. desk so they understand what is accessible to them if they need help with their technologies. The I.T. desk could be helpful for all four years here at Gonzaga because you never know when your computer or your old PC might fail on you.

Class Matters

Campbell County Library System is providing its patrons with free programs and services to help them with their job searches. The libraries offer computer access so that users can create resumes, look for jobs & practice computer skills. By providing these services, which will cost the county nothing, the libraries are easing the burden slightly for those who are looking to improve their lot in life.  In Class Matters it is perceived that education leads to wealth, and wealth leads to power.  If a homeless person is given the tools to be educated, then he has a much better possibility for achieving wealth.  By supplying financially struggling people with educational services, libraries are empowering people. By empowering people, they too, can make better choices in their lives and perhaps educate others, creating a circle of support.
