Today was thrilling. We divded our research into two sections, the first being Customer Services for Desktop Support (IT Services) and the second being Periodicals Research Help.

The first person we talked to was Technology EXPERT Diane Schuman, who was seating at the front desk of the IT Support Center. She provided us with great information regarding resetting our passwords, recovering lost files on our computers, and hooking up wireless to our computers.

The IT service desk will provide help quickly! All you have to do is call them at (509) 313-5550 between 8am and 9pm Mon-Fri. They don’t know their own weekend schedule, but that’s ok.

Resetting your password is easy! Simply tell them your ID number and they will provide you with a new, temporary password that you can change upon your first login.
Diana can help you recover lost files too! All it takes is a brisk and easy trip downstairs to the IT Center and you and your broken computer will be cordially greeted by Diane or one of her cohorts. They will help you from there.
Having trouble setting up wireless in your dorm?? Just call Diane! She will show you how to set up wireless on either a Mac or a PC. All it takes is clearing the cache or reformatting your domain!
The GU IT service desk is the best place to go if you’re ever having computer-related problems! Ever!

We talked to Blaine at the Periodicals research help desk and he was very informative, and even showed us the step by step process on his computer.

If you need to need to find a periodical online, all you do is access the Foley library website: www.foley.gonzaga.edu and enter your search into one of the databases. They have access to various articles in full text.
For articles in the library, you can go see Blaine at the service desk and he will quickly search the article database for your call number. A-E is on the left side, while everything else is on the right.
